India's Agartala becomes the first LED lighting city in the Northeast

Agartala, the capital of India's Tripura State, will become the first city in the northeastern part of India to adopt LED lighting. In eastern India, Kolkata has taken the lead in becoming a city with LED lighting, and Agartala will be the second city to replace it. In southern India, Hyderabad and Vijayawada have also replaced LED lighting. Agartosh Jindal, secretary general of urban development in Agartala, said that Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL) under the Ministry of Energy of India will replace the city's lighting system with energy saving. EESL will sign with Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) this week. The memorandum of cooperation will be followed by the replacement of the lighting on the main road between Raj Bakuwang and Agartala Airport. The city will eventually replace the city lighting with LEDs before Kolkata.
