According to the freight forwarding companies, this trend is actually due to the fact that in August, liner companies put a lot of capacity on various routes, making the accommodation generally vacant. For example, in August, Southeast Asia became a hot spot for new routes or upgrades of capacity, resulting in the phenomenon of cargo demand for various shipping companies, and some even began to pick up goods at low prices. In the West Coast of South America, due to the increased number of shipping companies, the price per TEU of the route has fallen below US$3,000, and there is still a downward trend.

In addition, a shipping company has announced plans to impose a port congestion surcharge (PCS) of US$100 per container for containers exported to Port Sudan since September 15. However, freight forwarders report that there is not enough cargo to go to the port. Whether or not to be levied is determined by the actual market.
