As one of ZF’s most important global markets, sales in the Chinese market already account for more than 10% of the Group’s sales, and ZF will further expand its business in the Chinese market. At the same time, more products will be developed locally at ZF Shanghai Engineering Technology Center in the future.

Dr. Somer, 49, has a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and joined ZF Group in 2008 as a director of the former ZF Saks AG. In 2010, he was appointed as the executive vice president of ZF Group, responsible for material management. In July 2011, the ZF Supervisory Board appointed him as the successor to Hans-Georg Härter, former CEO of ZF. Prior to joining ZF, Dr. Sommer served at ITT Automotive Europe GmbH and served as senior vice president of customer service at Continental AG and EBS projects.
