Quartz vein containing gold ores mainly composed of quartz, an amount of 50 to 95%. Metallic minerals content of 0 to 15% pyrite is the main sulfide minerals, pyrrhotite and secondly there is a small amount of galena, yellow copper ore, sphalerite. Gangue addition there sericite quartz, plagioclase, muscovite, calcite, feldspar and the like. Gold minerals are mainly free natural gold and silver gold ore. They are mostly fine-grained and fine veins produced in pyrite, and a small amount is produced in chalcopyrite and quartz. The symbiotic relationship between gold and pyrite is extremely close. Such ores are often classified into several types as shown in the table below according to their mineral composition, oxidation depth, and symbiotic relationship.
classification | feature | Optional and beneficiation methods
(1) Quartz containing gold ore | Â More than 90% of the ore is quartz, the metal mineral is natural gold, almost no other sulfides, and the gold grains are mostly coarse. | Â The coarse particles can be recovered by re-election or amalgamation ; the fine particles are recovered by whole mud cyanidation.
Gold-bearing ore containing a small amount of sulfide | (2) Gold and sulfide symbiosis are closely related | Metallic minerals are mainly pyrite. The content of sulfide is 1 to 5%; the gangue is mainly quartz; more than 60% of natural gold is symbiotic with sulfide. Gold is mainly composed of medium and fine particles. | Â It is an easy-to-select ore, mainly cyanidation and flotation, and is commonly used in the flotation process of flotation. |
(3) Gold and quartz are closely related to each other. | Â There are fewer metal sulfides, and more than 70% of gold is symbiotic with gangue minerals such as quartz. Generally, the particle size is fine. | Â Based on cyanidation and flotation. Mercury and re-election methods assist in the recovery of coarse gold.
(4) Pyrite containing gold quartz vein ore | Â The mineral composition is the same as (2), the main difference is that the sulfide content accounts for 5-15%; the gold has 75-99% coexisted with pyrite. | Â Extremely easy to float, the recovery rate of gold is over 95%, but the grade of Flotation Fine Gold is low.
Quartz vein containing gold oxide ore | (5) partial oxidation | Â The main metal mineral is limonite, followed by a small amount of pyrite. The gangue is quartz. Gold is present in mineral fractures. It is characterized by the inclusion of gold in iron hydroxide. | The ore dressing is mainly based on re-election (amalgamation) + cyanidation. Flotation can also be used. |
(6) Total oxidation | Â Free of sulfides. Most of the gold is contained in gangue minerals and weathered metal oxide residual particles, and the ore contains muddy. | Â Coarse gold is recovered by amalgamation and re-election. The slurry is stirred and cyanized, and the ore is percolated and cyanated. |
