DC high voltage generator practical measurement method:
  
1. In general measurement, when the wire is connected, first connect the line of the test sample to the test voltage and read the corona and stray current I during the test. Then, connect the test sample to the test voltage. Read total current I1; Leakage current of the test object: IO=I1-I'.
  
2. When it is necessary to accurately measure the leakage current of the test object, a high-voltage digital microammeter should be connected in series on the high voltage side.
  
The microampere meter must have a metal shield and should be shielded from the test object. The shielded lead-out of the high voltage lead should be tightly coupled with the shield at the meter end. If the performance of the product under test is to exclude the influence of the leakage current on the surface of the test object, it can be connected with the shield of the high voltage lead after tightly winding the bare metal cord for a few turns at the high potential end of the test object.
  
3, DC high-voltage generator for zinc oxide, magnetic shock arrester and other test items can be disassembled under the ground, can also be used in the bottom of the test object (ground potential side) into the ammeter to measure the way. When the influence of the surface leakage current of the test object is to be excluded, a bare bare copper wire can be used to wind several times around the ground potential end of the test object and be connected with the shielding of the shielded wire.
  
For small-capacity samples such as zinc oxide surge arresters, the discharge time is usually very short through the load resistor. Large-capacitance test items, such as cables, are generally subject to a test voltage of less than 20% of the test voltage, and discharges through the associated discharge bars. After the sample to be fully discharged, the grounding wire is hung to permit the removal of the high voltage lead wire and the replacement of the wiring work.
  
After the protection operation, the red light is off, the green light is on, and the voltage is decreased during the use. This is the protection action. At this point, the power switch should be turned off and all the panel lights should be off. The level shifter is returned to zero position, and after one minute the standby low-voltage capacitor is fully discharged before allowing the power switch to be turned on again. After re-doing the no-load test and ascertaining the situation, the test may be boosted again.
