[ China Instrument Network Instrument Development ] June 27-29, "2018 World Mobile Conference - Shanghai (MWCS18)" was held in Shanghai. At the meeting, China Mobile and the University of Helsinki in Finland jointly demonstrated innovative 5G air quality monitoring solutions.
It is reported that this is the world's first demonstration of 5G and high-precision measurement stations (Atmospheric Relation Measurement Station, SMEAR) for large-scale air quality monitoring and high-density 5G sensor networks.
With the development of China's economy, especially the dense urban population and numerous industries, burning a large amount of chemical fuels in production and life has caused great pollution to the urban air environment. According to statistics, in recent years, China's air quality has improved slowly, and the total amount of air pollutants has been high for many years. According to the classification of pollutants, the annual average concentration of the four main pollutants showed a downward trend year by year, and the proportion of cities that met the standards increased. The average annual average concentration of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides in 2015 reached the first-class air quality standard. However, the current level of air pollution is still at a certain distance from the ideal air environment, especially the concentration of particulate matter such as PM2.5 and PM10 is seriously exceeded. Therefore, real-time and effective monitoring of the atmospheric environment is very necessary.
At present, most commonly used monitoring methods use air quality monitoring stations to perform fixed-point, continuous or timed sampling, measurement and analysis of pollutants existing in the atmosphere and air. In order to monitor the air, it is necessary to set up several air stations in a key environmental protection city. The multi-parameter automatic monitoring instrument is installed in the station for continuous automatic monitoring. The monitoring results are stored in real time and analyzed to obtain relevant data. But currently, only a small number of measurement sites are built in most cities. In the future, with 5G networks, air quality monitoring can provide relevant evidence for urban planning and decision making, and generate a variety of landmark services through data perception and data insight, for example, by accurately locating and reducing pollution from the source. Improve air quality.
Utilizing features such as 5G large connectivity and ultra-high bandwidth, network slicing and edge computing, the solution combines artificial intelligence technology to collect air quality data in real time through large-scale deployment of sensors, and with high-precision measurement sites (atmospheric relationship measurement stations, SMEAR) High frequency calibration of data to provide real-time, accurate and comprehensive air quality monitoring services.
