In the September issue of the European Commission's Corporate Directorate, a report on the determination of key mineral materials jointly completed by experts from the relevant departments of Member States, geological surveys and related industrial fields was published. The report analyzed 41 types of minerals and metals and other raw materials, and finally identified 14 of them as the most important for the EU. They were: germanium, antimony, cobalt, fluorspar, antimony, bismuth, graphite, indium, magnesium, strontium, Platinum, rare earth, antimony, and tungsten. The report pointed out that the demand for these raw materials supply risk mainly lies in: First, some of them are aggregated in the global distribution, such as China has 90% of the world's rare earth and antimony, Brazil has 90% of the world's antimony, and 77% of platinum. (Platinum) is produced in South Africa; the second is the negative impact on the environment caused by the mining process. In order to actively respond to the tense problem of key mineral materials, the report recommends that the first is to strengthen the research and use of recycled materials; the second is to pay close attention to the international trade and investment trends of related products; the third is to find alternatives to key mineral materials.
