According to Indonesia's "Jakarta Post" report, the German Bosch Group recently opened its first auto parts factory in Indonesia. In the future, it will start production of oxygen sensors and fuel injectors for passenger cars.
The new plant, located in Bekasi, West Java, broke ground last year and cost US$135.3 billion to build. Jan Tjoa, Vice President of Sales of Bosch Gasoline Systems, said that the new plant will initially supply Japanese automakers operating in Indonesia and may export to other markets in the future.
Bosch entered the Indonesian market as early as 1919, with its local headquarters in Jakarta, and currently has branches in East Kalimantan, Central Java, and Makassar.
In Southeast Asia, Bosch currently has a total of six production plants located in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. Its products include power tools and automotive components, as well as multimedia and industrial technology products.
