Based on the optimistic judgment of the future gas engine market, Yuchai has recently released two natural gas engines, namely the 3L YC4FAN and the 4.7L YC4EGN .
"At present, in the engine area of ​​about 3L displacement, there is a lack of a natural gas product with stable overall performance and reliable quality. Therefore, after 3 years of research and development, Yuchai has developed the 4FAN 3L gas engine," explained Tan Xuefeng.
According to reports, the YC4FA series is a 3.0L light-duty diesel engine jointly developed by Yuchai and AVL Consulting. It is a 3.0L light-duty diesel engine newly developed in strict accordance with the German FEV company's machinery development program, and is the mainstream power for this displacement segment. “4FAN is a gas engine developed and designed on the basis of 4FA. The power covers 90 horsepower to 110 horsepower. The market is positioned at 6-7 meters of road buses, buses and buses, 4X2 light trucks, municipal sanitation and other special vehicles. Another newly released 4EGN product mainly covers three power segments, 140 horsepower, 160 horsepower and 170 horsepower. After the addition of the two new products, Yuchai Light Engine currently has corresponding products for each grade from 3L, 4.2L, 4.7L to 5.2L, 6.5L, and 7.8L. “At present, in the entire industry, the compression ratio of gas engines is generally 11:1, and the larger one is 11.5:1. To ensure that this 4FAN product is powerful and economical, it has a compression ratio of 12:1. This is the highest gas engine compression ratio in the industry so far. At the same time, we have optimized the cylinder head of our product and made a small vortex flow ratio to the cylinder head, which has greatly improved the engine's power and responsiveness." Tan Xuefeng said.
Another major breakthrough is that Yuchai's light natural gas engine has optimized the supercharger and made it a low-inertia turbocharger, which makes the low-speed dynamic and external characteristic torques approach the torque curve of the same-power diesel engine.
At the same time, based on the research and development of the diesel engine platform, these two engines have been optimized for the reliability of natural gas engines. "In terms of supercharger first, because of the high exhaust temperature of natural gas engines, we have water-cooled the supercharger, that is, our supercharger has a water-cooled intermediate. Second, the natural gas engine valve is dry friction. The valve and the temperature of the exhaust pipe are very high, so all of our valve and valve seats are made of imported materials to achieve high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. In addition, in order to prevent surge or knocking of the supercharger, the boost pressure is increased. In terms of durability and reliability, we also added an anti-surge valve to the supercharger.
