Navistar Group Corporation recently announced that it will launch the next-generation clean engine emission solution that meets the US EPA 2010 emission standards: In-Cylinder Technology (Upgrading In-cylinder Combustion Emissions Technology ICT+). The ICT+ technology combines Navistar's proprietary in-cylinder combustion engine emission technology with an exhaust gas aftertreatment system based on a urea tank. This technology will also enable the company to meet the 2014 and 2017 standards for US greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in advance.

Today, Navistar announced that it will introduce ICT+ clean engine solutions to the Chinese market to meet Euro 5 and Euro 6 emission standards. With the introduction of this technology, Navistar's goal is to provide customers and partners with the latest and most advanced engine emission technologies, including the newly approved engine joint venture between Navistar and JAC.
"Our partnership with JAC is global, and Navistar's extensive product portfolio in emissions technologies, including ICT+ technology, will enable us and JAC's engine joint venture products to meet various global standards. Requirements: Navistar can use its engine technology portfolio to meet the different requirements of market regulations, customer needs, or regional conditions (such as oil quality) in China or other different export markets. To provide our customers with a global series of engine solutions. Our ICT+ technology will enable the joint venture's products to meet the more stringent standards in the future global market,†said Mr. Wan Ruyi, president of Navistar China.

The basis of this new ICT+ emission technology is the proprietary in-cylinder combustion emissions technology that Navistar announced in the North American market in 2010. In the past two years, Navistar has optimized combustion by precisely controlling the mix ratio of oil and gas, and achieved significant advances in clean engine technology using in-cylinder combustion emission control.
"Navistar's ICT+ emissions programme results in lower initial emissions of engine emissions, such as nitrogen oxides, and further reductions in emissions through the use of validated tail gas aftertreatment devices." Navistar Group China Products Yan Jingde, vice president of technology and R&D, said: “ICT+ will enable us to bring the world’s cleanest and best fuel economy engine. Our customers and the environment will benefit from this.â€
