Peter Pang, president of Bosch (China) Investment Co., Ltd., said in a company statement: “We will invest 850 million euros (91.9 billion yuan) in China between 2008 and 2010.
In June of this year, Bosch built a new 83,000-square-meter component manufacturing plant in Dalian, Liaoning Province, and its components will be supplied to both China and overseas markets. The plant will produce aluminum and cast iron calipers, parking brakes, rotors and master cylinders.
The company said: "Dalian will be one of the world's largest production bases for Bosch Chassis Systems."
In addition, Bosch is expanding its automotive electronics portfolio. Bosch Automotive Components (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. has added three production lines this year to produce parking auxiliary sensors, airbag control devices and light mixing technologies.
This year, Bosch also acquired Shenzhen Weining Industrial Co., Ltd. (Weicon), but the acquisition amount has not been announced. The company develops, manufactures and sells diagnostic equipment.
In May, Bosch's new headquarters in Shanghai began construction. This 28,631-square-meter headquarters is located in Shanghai Hongqiao Airport Economic Zone. The 9-storey building will have an area of ​​80,000 square meters and will be put into use in 2010.
In 2007, Bosch's sales in China was 18.3 billion yuan (US$2.68 billion).
